at night the fog,

mostly unnoticed in

the early rain falling,

the streetlight at the intersection

and two headlights from a slow-moving car

add a yellowed grey hue

to everything nearby,

turning the scene into

a movie filmed long ago,

as if noir was tinged

by the sands of time.
